Detection, dismantling and removal of asbestos-containing materials in buildings: A guide

  • Published 26/11/2024

“This document sets out both mandatory requirements and recommended measures designed to prevent, reduce, and manage social and environmental risks associated with construction activities under the Project. This includes critical procedures for safe asbestos removal and disposal, as well as other safeguards during the implementation of energy-efficiency retrofits.

The guidelines have been developed within the framework of the UNDP-GCF "De-risking and Scaling-up Investment in Energy Efficient Building Retrofits" Project and are aligned with UNDP’s Social and Environmental Standards and best international practices.

These provisions apply to all national partners and implementing entities engaged in retrofit works under the Project.
