UNDP in Armenia, in partnership with Yerevan Municipality, procured and installed 3,092 energy saving LED luminaires in Nubarashen and Davtashen administrative districts of Yerevan, as well as in Leningradyan, Hasratyan, Shiraz, Fuchik, Hakob Hakobyan, Kievyan, Halabyan, Gay, Armenakyan, G.Hovsepyan, Koghbatsi, Zakyan, and Rubinyants streets.
LED uses less energy than traditional light sources, contributing directly to reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.
In the framework of the project, 98 most dangerous pedestrian crossings are now illuminated with appropriate luminaires, as well as 4,003 energy saving luminaires have been installed in various administrative districts and in a number of yards/backstreets.
